Unique Color Generator for Geeetech A20M Cura Plugin

Unique Color Generator for Geeetech A20M Cura Plugin

Description

Hi guys, you maybe know my issue... You brought a 3D Printer with a dual extruder and after printing numerous cats, geckos, and traffic cones you're trying to find out what you should do now with this machine. I tried to figure out what is possible with the gradient feature in the marlin firmware and how to use the manufacturer app for gradient colors. Because I'm pretty lazy and won't use many tools, I decided to create a fire-and-forget-solution for cura. I wrote this little script, with a few parameters to manipulate the gcode. Within this script you can control the color and gradient behaviour of the extruders. You can also randomize the output, so every vase, gift or whatever you print will be unique piece (within your given parameters). Because a picture shows more than words you can view a few configuration examples on at https://youtu.be/YzPyT1FKeD8 You can also do undemanding, but good-looking stuff like just mixing the color 50/50 in cura. So you don't need to buy expensive dual-color-filament and you can experiment with self-chosen colors. I tested it on cura 5.2.1, 5.1 and 4.1.2 worked well for me but it is still in development. It's the first time I wrote something in python, so please don't judge me too hard. To install the plugin in Cura 5.2.1 go to: C:\Program Files\Ultimaker Cura 5.2.1\share\cura\plugins\PostProessingPlugin\scripts and just put the script in there. When you restart Cura please go to Extensions -> Post Processing -> Modify G-Code and choose "Unique Color Generator" Now go wild and have fun. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Vase models designed by: Steve Warren (_Steve) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4897342 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4234075 Disco Stu (DiscoStuso) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4567968 Dragon models designed by: Cinderwing3D https://www.patreon.com/cinderwing3d
