Magnetic Dosing Funnel
Description
I designed this magnetic espresso dosing funnel to fit a 54mm filter basket. I've only used it on my Breville 54mm portafilter, but I think it should work on any portafilter with a 54mm basket. The funnel assembly includes 16 small (Ø3 x 2mm) magnets that attract to the rim of the filter basket to help secure the funnel in place. The funnel sits on the top rim of the basket, with no rim wall protruding down into the basket so as to not create any voids in the puck volume. After pressing the magnets into their pockets, I secured each of them with a bit of 2-part epoxy. Besides helping to locate and secure the funnel on my portafilter, the magnets also allow you to attach the funnel to the side of my espresso machine.
