Articulating 40x10mm Through Glass Fan Mount for Vivarium/Terrarium
Description
Design: I designed this fan to go through a 5/8" hole drilled in glass, so that I could position the fan within the inside of the tank accurately. The glass thickness I designed for is 3/16", but it should work for most thicknesses. Fit: The ball-joints are snap fit, and the assembly is held together using the stainless steel mesh between the fan inner and outer housings. The roughness of the printed surfaces definitely will impact the 'tightness' of the ball joints. The fit may be too loose with high accuracy prints, so a little inaccuracy is okay. Also, the more the internal joints are moved the looser the fit becomes, so keep that in mind. Notes: I used 40 mesh size stainless steel mesh. I used a dupont 2-pin connector, which fits nicely through the hole in the articulating fan arm Printing: I used a 0.6mm nozzle, with anywhere from 0.2 to 0.4mm layer height. Parts: 1: Fan Nut 2: Threaded Ball Joint Connector 3: Ball Joint Connector Extension 4: Fan Housing Inner 5: Fan Housing Outer
