Doveling jig, self-centering for 6 and 8 mm dowels
Description
I was looking for a jig I can print and use to help me with dowels. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any which would suit me, so I designed my own. This jig is for 3 dowels and as I used less 8 mm, this first version is for two 6 mm and one 8 mm holes. To reinforce it, I used some screws and bearings, so should last for long. The maximum width of wood which can be clamped is 56 mm and minimum wood thickness is 16 mm. Distance between dowels: 30 mm. The main bar 1st version includes mixed size bearings, but version 2 is for three 6 mm and version 3 for three 8 mm drills. Required parts (all are very cheap and can be ordered on Aliexpress): 6 x M3 hex screws of min. 12 mm long 6 x M3 inserts (I used 5 mm high, but 4 mm should also work) 2 x bearings HK061012 (12 mm high, 10 mm outer diameter and 6 mm inside). I used HF type which allows spinning only in one direction. 1 x bearing HK081212 (12 mm high). It has not yet arrived, so you can see on my photos a place for it in the middle. 1 x M3 cone screw ( min. 25 mm if used with washer) for spacer 1 x M3 wing nut (or any other type M3 nut with printed knob)
