Ender 3 CR-10 Hotend 2510 25mm snap-on cooling fan duct
Description
Designed to work with the stock Ender 3/CR-10 hotend heatsink, mimicking the regularly used ducts seen on round heatsink hotends. The top has clearances for most common hotend mounting bolt head sizes. I warmed the heater block to 240°c for 1 hour without any filamant flow and let cool to room temperature 3 times to ensure there wasn't any heat-creep that would cause clogs from poor heatsink cooling. This should be able to be pressed onto an assembled hotend heatsink from the front, without removing the hotend. I used Tinkercad and poor CAD skills to design this so I encourage much better remixes! I used a FLIR camera to measure radiant heat from the heater block and its exposed to about 70°c when I heated the block to 260°c, which makes PETG the preferred choice. PLA will work decently (most of my testing was with a PLA dev part) but it will begin to lose its snap-on tension over time as the plastic softens from exposure, compared to PETG. Any 25x10mm fan should work but these are the specific fan I used: WINSINN 25mm Fan 12V, 3D Printer Micro 12 Volt Fans 2510 Dual Ball Bearing, Brushless Cooling 25mmx10mm 2PIN (Pack of 2Pcs) https://a.co/d/0YWYZIz Print upside down as shown in the attached images. Do not print with the fan mounting face laying downward. This will make the snap-on part less strong from the print layer orientation. I recommend using a raft since there is very little contact area with the bed surface. It just ensures it stays attached the firs try.
