Aircraft Gust Lock

Aircraft Gust Lock

Description

Currently marked as work in progress until I do some more testing. This is an experiment. I do not know if they will actually protect my airplane or yours. Print and use at your own risk and please don't sue me if they don't work! I designed this gust lock for my Mooney M20F, but I think it would work on other aircraft as well. You'll need a few types of filament, some foam that doesn't absorb water, some glue, and some lengths of 1" web strapping. I printed the base out of ABS I printed the Cam buckle out of PETG - the included 3MF has some fuzzy skin modifiers to help the buckle have better grip. If you can't open the 3MF, feel free to grab the STL from the link below. Make sure supports are turned on as well. I printed the foam template from whatever I had in the printer. I used 5mm EVA foam from the local craft store. The foam template will mark the foam so you can cut it with a hobby knife or scissors. I attached the foam with CA glue. I attached the cam buckle with JB Weld Epoxy Cam buckle designed by user IAN8 on Cults. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/cam-buckle
