Kyosho Datsun Stepside Vintage Nitro R/C Air Filter
Description
# Vintage Kyosho Datsun Stepside Air Filter This is a custom right-angle air filter made for the vintage Kyosho Datsun Stepside. While I ended up adding the Kyosho logo to the cap, I'm also including a blank one so you could add your own logo. This filter should assumedly work on any RC engine with a 6mm carburator nozzle and enough room in the engine bay. # Components Needed: - 2.5x20mm Hex Machine Screw (or similar) - 20x25x10mm block of foam, if you think it's dense enough it should work. foam I used was just some I had for insulating around a window A/C. # Printing/Assembly: - Because of the proximity to the hot engine, PRINT BOTH PARTS IN PETG. - Print KDS Pipe and Base in the same orientation it comes in, and use supports. (I found I only needed supports at the end of the pipe where the cap screws on, the pipe itself should print fine without supports.) - Print KDS Cap facing flat with the "legs" pointing up, use a denser layer height to make sure the legs aren't too easy to break off. - pop a hole through the center of the foam block for the screw to go through. - put foam block into the cap, and screw cap onto the pipe. small ridges on each corner of the pipe's entry surface should align the cap. - push exit end of the pipe onto the nozzle of the carburetor. should be a nice pressure fit. If fit is too tight or doesn't go on at all, drill out exit end of the pipe with a 6mm bit. - OPTIONAL: if you went with a logo for the cap, I'd recommend painting in the letters with a fine-tip brush and clearcoating to protect it. As you can see in my example I went with blue plastic, so I painted the lettering white, (and also painted in an extra reference just for looks.) Enjoy!
