Mid-Power Rocket Launch Pad

Mid-Power Rocket Launch Pad

Description

I needed a mid-power model rocketry launch pad and happened to have a Lowes/Craftsman tripod base PN 1107082 found here: https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-72-04-in-to-72-04-in-Plastic-Work-Light-Stands/1000655903. So I proceeded to model up and 3D print the parts shared here to make both a 1/4" rod and 1010 extruded aluminum compatible launch pads. The quick pin assembly allows you to both quickly convert between the two as well as being able to lower the extruded aluminum rail horizontally to assist in the loading of the model rocket. All parts were printed from PLA+. Most purchased parts were sourced through Amazon. I highly recommend you place small sand bags on the end of the tripod legs to further stabilize the launch pad. And of course, use at your own risk. The only negative of the pad is the lack of an easy way to adjust angle of the launch rod/rail. However using stable shims or varying placement of the pad on your surface should get you the variation you may need.
