Brushless DC Motor

Brushless DC Motor

Description

This is a brushless motor I designed to learn about electric motors. This is a 9 slot motor with 12 magnetic poles. The following link can be used to for wiring help. http://www.bavaria-direct.co.za/scheme/calculator/ I wired the motor in Y configuration. You will need two bearing of OD 10mm with ID of 5mm, motor shaft of 5mm, 9 m3 bolts of 8mm (these bolts should be magnetic), and some enameled coated copper wire. I used 24AWG wire and was able to do 15 turns, with this set up I got the motor to turn with some issues so I may need to play around with the turns more. You will also need an ESC to run the motor, the one I used can be seen in the picture and was relatively cheap. I just had most of this stuff kicking around but I included the stp file of the assembly so it can be modified to fit other parts wire - https://www.amazon.ca/BNTECHGO-AWG-Magnet-Wire-Transformers/dp/B07DYF89T9/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3UGDQEXTA8JT6&keywords=magnet+wire&qid=1671390510&sprefix=magnet+wire%2Caps%2C379&sr=8-5 ESC - https://www.amazon.ca/RCmall-Brushless-Electric-Controller-Digital/dp/B09MFF7SCW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2ZZ9A1V7N311W&keywords=rcmall%2Bxxd%2B30A&qid=1671390574&sprefix=rcmall%2Bxxd%2B30a%2Caps%2C239&sr=8-1&th=1 bearings - https://www.amazon.ca/5x10x4mm-Shielded-Precision-Miniature-Bearings/dp/B085RGVMBD/ref=sr_1_15?crid=10HK4CXV3YHIQ&keywords=bearing+5mm+id+10+mm+od&qid=1671390719&sprefix=bearing+5mm+id+10+mm+od%2Caps%2C281&sr=8-15 shaft - https://www.amazon.ca/1Pair-Motor-Stainless-Steel-Suitable/dp/B08K4QZHD8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1CRHON7UJY4I5&keywords=5mm+shaft&qid=1671390767&sprefix=5mm+shaf%2Caps%2C255&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A4L4HW2B7OYEH&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExWTZCM1lTMERURENUJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzM4OTgwN0oyNUs2NExYNk9DJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAwODIxMTAxS0JMNjZBS1ExVDJIJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
