Functional Medieval Crossbow

Functional Medieval Crossbow

Description

This is a fully functional office toy based loosely on medieval war crossbows made by Tod Cutler. Check out his Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@tods_workshop. The crossbow features a three piece non-sprung trigger assembly. It makes THAT noise when you shoot it. There are two bow strenghs available. I would call the lighter one safe-ish. Printing tips: 1. the bow is the only part which must be printed in PETG 2. print body laying down. The endcap should be printed standing 3. I recommend printing the entire trigger assembly at 0.1mm You'll need: Superglue Microcord Skewer sticks Assembly: 1. Insert Bow through the Head. 2. Push the Body into the Head and use the Pin to secure the parts together. (Do not glue.) 3. Assemble the trigger mechanism. Use skewer sticks as pins. (Check third picture for ref.) 4. Check if the trigger assembly works. The wheel should rotate somewhat freely. If not you will have to do some light sanding. 5. Drop the Trigger assembly into the Body and pin it with skewer sticks. 6. Tie the cordage. The cord should be barely tight when the bow is not drawn. 7. Glue the Tail to the Body.
