K2 Filament Clip
Description
K2 Clip The filament clip you've been waiting for! The K2 Clip is a unique design with multiple locking points. No matter what, there will be a locking point facing up. The clip can be left to "float" on your filament spool while printing. Extra secure storage using the optional center locking point, too! Print Files / Details: K2_Clip_Smooth - Without locking center, it's smooth. K2_Clip_v1.7 - With locking center. My Print Settings: - 0.20mm Layer height using PLA - 0% infill or your own preference (no infill anyway) - K2Clip has very tight tolerances. PETG is a loose fit for me. Test print one, and just scale up/down X/Y to 99%. Q&A: How do I use the K2 Clip? Insert the end of your filament through the center hole and feed the clip around your spool until the end of your filament again meets up with your K2 Clip. Press the end of your filament into the top of the K2 Clip. Why so tight?!?! It's designed to be tight and hold your filament firmly. The K2 Clip will loosen after some use. Are the slots different sizes? Yes... The “top” is the primary slot, designed for 90% of all filaments and offers two levels of locking (You will feel two clicks). The two side slots are slightly tighter for some of those slippery filaments. Why is it a triangle? Triangles are cool! No matter what, there will be a locking point facing up. Do I need to “lock” filament in the center? Nope! If you do “lock” the center, it does keep your spool tightly wound, secure for travel, and tight for long term storage. I only use the center locking feature when I know I'm not using that color filament for awhile. Should I remove the clip while printing? Heck NO! I took lots of time designing/sizing/shaping/massaging that center hole. I've been testing this clip “floating” on the spool while printing for weeks before release, it's flawless!
