Voron 2.4 Top-Adjusting Z Idler

Voron 2.4 Top-Adjusting Z Idler

Description

This is a replacement for the Z idlers provided by VoronDesign for the Voron 2.4 and Voron 2.4 r2. It flips the adjustment screw 180 degrees, allowing you to adjust the Z-axis belt tension from the top. I find this much less obnoxious than the original method, which means less struggling to get your belt tension perfectly even. This uses all of the same hardware from the original Z-axis idler design, making this super easy to install - you are simply flipping the M3x16 and M3 nut 180 degrees. This will result in the screw having some minor stickout below toward the belt and idler, but in my testing, I've found that you have to tighten the M3x16 EXCESSIVELY to get it to protrude anywhere near to the belts. Note: idler-bracket-a and idler-bracket-b are mirrors of each other, which will allow you to reprint the brackets for all four Z-axis belts, and should be printed in your primary color. [a]idler-holder should be printed in your secondary color, and it will work for all four corners. To replace all four of your Z idlers, print the following: idler-bracket-a x2 idler-bracket-b x2 [a]idler-holder x4 The original design for the Voron 2.4/r2 Z-axis belt idler belongs to the Voron project/VoronDesign. They have graciously shared their community-tested design under the GNU General Public License, allowing individuals to share and iterate upon their designs freely.
