Capacitor Box for Harbor Freight Milling Machine 40939
Description
This capacitor box is made for the Harbor Freight 9 speed vertical milling machine. It allows you to replace the original CD60 200uf and CBB60 40uf 250v capacitors with larger capacitors. If you frequently run small parts with a large facing cutter you will likely have experienced the frustration of having one of your capacitors fail. With larger capacitors you will have the extra juice needed to start your machine without over working the capacitors. The slots in the box will easily accommodate a 102x50mm capacitor, which gives you the option to run a capacitor as large as CD60 500uf 450v and CBB60 80uf 450v. Generally speaking, you want to run a capacitor that is rated about 30% higher than your motors actual need to prevent over working them, but please do your own research before making any decisions. NOTE: I am not suggesting that you use the largest capacitors that will fit, I am not suggesting that you replace your original capacitors if they are working properly, I am not suggesting that you need to replace worn out capacitors with larger ones. I am simply offering a box that I personally used to modify my machine. If you choose to use this box please be extremely careful with your capacitors, you can receive a severe shock by touching the wires from a capacitor that has not been properly discharged. https://www.amazon.com/Tnisesm-Capacitor-Frequency-Conditioners-Refrigerators/dp/B08NYK8SY9/ref=sr_1_5?crid=NU4RXGVCIOWL&keywords=cbb60%2Bcapacitor&qid=1673100853&s=industrial&sprefix=cbb60%2Bcapa%2Cindustrial%2C71&sr=1-5&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QD6N2T6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 01/07/2023 - These parts have been modified slightly from the ones pictured. I added 0.5mm height to both the lid and bottom, and made the capacitor slots 0.4mm larger diameter so that the box isn't as tight on them. I have not tested the threads yet, they are still printing. I made my prototype from ABS with 50% infill, you can definitely use less infill and PLA should work fine. use regular supports
