Simple 2x 18650 USB type C Powerbank

Description

Warning: Lithium cells can be very dangerous when handled incorrectly, only attempt this project if you know what you're doing as even a short circuit can lead to thermal runaway and therefore a fire or even worse an explosion. Attempt at your own Risk. A simple power bank made using 2x 18650 cells with a power bank charge module and a USB type C breakout board. It is very compact for its capacity and easily fits in almost any pocket. Components I used: -1x USB c female breakout board -1x Powerbank module 5v 1a or similar sized module -1x USB type A female port from module -Wires for connecting everything Build instructions: -Insert the USB type A and C ports into the 3d printed caps and carefully superglue them from the inside, then solder 2 lengths of~5cm of wire to the + and - pads of the type c port and bridge the Data + and - on the type a port. -Connect the wires from the type c port to the 5v in solder pads of the module and solder 2 further wires on the 5v output pads of the module. -Carefully solder (ideally spot weld) two wires on the 18650 cells as quickly as possible to avoid heat damage. -Before connecting them to the module ensure that the two cells have more or less identical voltages. -Connect the cells to the module and make sure all exposed metal parts are covered in heatshrink or electrical tape. -Push the outer shell into the cap with the type c port and insert all the electronics also make sure that the two wires from the module for the type a port are exposed so you can solder them to the port. -Solder the two wires to the USB type a port and test charging and discharging on the type c and type a port -Lastly push the type a cap onto the shell, if friction isnt enough to hold everything together you can secure it with glue
