GoPro Screw Knob with eye bolt and hole for safety strap

##### German version below ##### GoPro Screw Knob for the use with an M5x40 eye bolt / ring bolt to attach a safety strap/leash/wire. I use my GoPro for Scuba Diving and everything you drop is potentially gone to the seafloor (for ever!) and you want to strap everything to either your wrist or other pieces of equipment. Unfortunately, the GoPro housing does not have a place to fix a safety leash/strap that goes around your wrist or is fixed somewhere else. There are safety straps available online but they more or less are attached like my DIY solution in the photo. However, this did not convince me to have my 400€ camera dangling around like that. Therefore, I remixed https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:163883 to use a different M5 bolt, which you will likely find in your local hardware store. I couldn't find the exact english translation, but it is probably called an eye bolt. There seems to be no ISO standard for these bolts. In the picture you can see the dive housing attached to a handle (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:278035). A nut is glued into it on the opposite site, so even if the handle's bracket part were to break, the rope will still be attached to the camera and you. I assume that once the plexiglas part of the bracket breaks, it's gone anyway. I printed it in PETG, but PLA would probably be okay. There is a short version (comparison picture) where more thread is available and a long version which features the same thread length as the original screws. ##### Deutsche Beschreibung ##### GoPro Schraube für die Verwendung mit einer M5x40 Ösenschraube / Ringschraube, um einen Sicherheitsriemen / Leine / Draht zu befestigen. Ich benutze meine GoPro zum Tauchen, und alles, was man fallen lässt, landet möglicherweise auf dem Meeresboden (für immer!). Deshalb sollte entweder am Handgelenk oder an anderen Ausrüstungsgegenständen befestigt sein. Leider gibt es am GoPro-Gehäuse keine Möglichkeit, eine Sicherheitsleine zu befestigen. Es gibt zwar in einigen Shops Sicherheitsriemen, aber die sind mehr oder weniger so angebracht wie meine DIY-Lösung auf dem Foto. Das hat mich aber nicht überzeugt, meine 400€-Kamera so herumzubaumeln zu lassen. Deshalb habe ich https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:163883 so geremixed, dass ich eine andere M5-Schraube verwende, die wahrscheinlich in jedem Baumarkt zu finden ist (Ösenschraube/Ringschraube). Es scheint keine DIN/ ISO-Norm für diese Schrauben zu geben. Auf dem Bild ist dasTauchgehäuse an einem Griff befestigt (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:278035). Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite ist eine Mutter eingeklebt, so dass selbst wenn das Verbindungsteil des Griffs brechen sollte, das Seil immer noch mit der Kamera und dem Handgelenk verbunden ist. Ich gehe davon aus, dass der Plexiglas-Teil der Halterung eher das stärkste Glied in der Kette ist. Wenn der einmal bricht, dann ist es sowieso zu spät ... Ich habe es in PETG gedruckt, aber PLA wäre wahrscheinlich auch in Ordnung. Es gibt eine kurze Version (Vergleichsbild), bei der mehr Gewinde vorhanden ist, und eine lange Version, die die gleiche Gewindelänge wie die Originalschrauben aufweist.
