STM32 Nucleo-64 DCC-EX EX-CommandStation Base

STM32 Nucleo-64 DCC-EX EX-CommandStation Base

Description

This is a base I designed for testing and development of a DCC-EX CommandStation and other accessories with a Nucleo-64 based microcontroller (in particular an F411RE, but will suit any Nucleo-64 footprint). It shouldn't matter what motor shield you have as long as it is Uno format to mount on top of the Nucleo, as I've left plenty of room between the front of the Nucleo and the face for wiring of the OLED, serial, and I2C sockets. There is provision for an 0.96" OLED, a pocket to slide an ESP01 wireless board into, and mounts for both a single 3 way JST XHP socket for serial, and a pair of 4 way JST XHP sockets for I2C. I'm not sure why the OLED mount is appearing on end in the STL file, but obviously it should be printed flat on the build plate. Assembly notes: Hopefully the attached photos help with assembly. I have some bed levelling issues at the moment (waiting for a new build plate to arrive), so you will see the print quality of mine is less than ideal. It seems every 0.96" OLED has slightly different mounting dimensions (I have four, no two are quite the same), so if the little locating nibs in the OLED mount don't line up perfectly, these can simply be cut off and the OLED should still be supported appropriately. For the serial and I2C JST XHP sockets, I simply mount these on some strip board and drill out a couple of holes either side in order to mount them. You should be able to line the strip board up once this is printed to locate the sockets and holes correctly. All mounting holes are designed as 2.8mm diameter to accept M3 x 5mm machine screws. Self tappers of the same diameter should work fine, I just find it easier to get the machine screws locally.
