Modular Stackable EDC Tray System

Modular Stackable EDC Tray System

Description

<b>Combine and scale until you have your own ideal EDC or sorting tray!<b> Print the tray parts upright (4 basic models are added) so that the print lines run neatly in the longitudinal direction, or print them flat with support to provide the flat surface with a nice infill. Ensure a good bonding when printing! Use 100% infill with the tray parts (standard they are 2mm thick). Maybe use tree-support for printing upright extreme long tray parts. Use your own favorite print settings for the sides and intermediate plates. Use support on the build plate for the locating pins on the intermediate plates. tip: use a nice top/bottom infill so that the sides really catch the eye. To connect the tray parts, use the intermediate plate and slide a tray halfway in from both sides. It may be necessary to use some light force during assembly. In both side plates, the recesses are half-deep anyway. Use a (small) hammer and hit carefully straight into the long side so that the tray parts do not break. Apply a bevel to the side of the tray parts using a knife to make assembly easier! The thickness of the tray parts and the cut-out in the plates have a little play to ensure an easy fit. I tried with press fitting but then the tray parts tend to break when you have to take them apart with assembly. Use glue to secure them and place on a flat surface to cure. If you are going to stack them, it is up to you whether or not to glue them. If you're going to stack them, it's up to you whether or not to glue them at the joints. Scale in desired directions to create wider, longer, or taller assemblies. (scaling in height also makes the tray parts thicker). Make sure to use the correct directions and the same scale factors for the different parts..... <blockquote> This model is extremely suitable for custom tray parts with other recessed shapes, so I would love to see remixes here with your own designed tray for a specific purpose. With that in mind I have also added the basic tray as a step-file.</blockquote>
