Elgato Facecam Flip-Up Privacy Cover
Description
I used MvRens design mostly as the base and modified it some to my liking. The locking tabs on top and bottom were a little short to truely lock into the camera hood, they should be very close to the stock removable covers height now. The base depth was too shallow to sit against the camera housing, which allowed the cover to rock back and forth or even pull the entire thing off when opening. The depth should be a perfect fit now. I didn't like the pin hinge, so i filled in the pivot and went with a ball and socket design that can be snapped together after printing without any other materials. The hinge pivot is tight enough to move freely but is tight enough to hold the cap in position, this allows the magnets to be optional as I left the 5mm x 1mm holes intact in the design. The opening pull handle extended too low for me and wouldn't allow easy access since my camera is on a moveable arm and sitting close to the top of my monitor, so i replaced it with a straight and simple ball on a stud.
