N95 Fit Testing Probe Tool

N95 Fit Testing Probe Tool

Description

I've designed a tool that can be used to install N95 fit testing probes and lock nuts onto N95 masks. This design is similar and inspired by other tools out there in the fit testing industry. This tool pierces the disposable N95 mask with a nail, inserts a probe, and locks the probe onto the mask, creating an air-tight seal and allowing you to fit test your disposable N95 mask. You'll need to acquire a nail, a ring magnet, and the mask probes/lock nuts. I superglued the magnet into the "Probe Magnet Bottom V2.stl" **Print recommendations for easier part connections:** Probe Anvil Side Bottom V2.stl, print at ~98% scale Probe Anvil Side Top.stl, print @ ~101-102% scale Probe Magnet Bottom V2.stl, print @ 100% scale **Materials you'll need:** 1. 12 gauge, 4d (4 penny), 1.5 inch long common nail with a diameter around 0.100 inches (2.51mm). The common nail that I used has a nail head that is 0.218inches (5.55mm) in diameter and 0.030 inches (0.84mm) thick. It can work with other nails, but will be limited to a maximum diameter of around 0.125 inches, as it needs to fit through the probe. I bought a small pack from Home Depot for about $3. https://www.homedepot.com/p/1-1-2-in-Zinc-Plated-Common-Nails-35-Piece-801304/204274034 2. Ring magnet. Approximately 13mm OD x 10mm ID x 2mm thick. I purchased a pack of 10 from Amazon for ~$9. https://a.co/d/4P8BtsY 3. N95 fit testing probes and lock nuts. This is the tough one and the most expensive components. See the 8025-N95R refill kit from TSI for loose probes and lock nuts, but it doesn't come with a tool to install them.
