150 mm Dust Extraction connector for Hammer A3-31
Description
The Hammer A3-31 jointer/planer combo comes with a 120 mm dust extraction hose connection. Removing the original adapter and replacing it with this one allows for connection of a 150 mm dust hose. A 6 inch hose should also fit. In order to maximize the airflow, I have made the connection to the dust hose oval as opposed to the standard circular connection. This is also an advantage when using the machine in thicknesser mode, since the clearance between the dust chute and the material is quite slim. Getting a standard 150 mm dust hose to fit was not a problem in my case. Use a standard hose clamp to fixate the hose to the adapter The standard dust extractor is attached by use of rivets. You need to drill these out to remove the original adapter. The holes in the dust chute are 4 mm in diameter. Once removed, transfer the hole locations to your 3D printed adapter, and drill these holes with a 4 mm drill. I used M4 screws, washers and nuts to attach. An option would be self-tapping metal screws or rivets. Enjoy!
