In-Wall Cable Management Socket

In-Wall Cable Management Socket

Description

This is a simple, In-Wall Cable management socket! UPDATE: I have uploaded a Drywall Hole saw that is the perfect size for the wall socket! I have not tested it yet but if you do let me know how it works! It may be a one or two use thing but you can always print another for installing the next set of cable management sockets! Just chuck the hole saw into a drill and go slow with low pressure! If you don't want to use the hole saw just follow along with the instructions as below: 1. You will need at least 2 sets of each part (wall socket and beauty ring). The wall socket has countersunk holes to use drywall screws. Simply put the wall socket on the wall where you want the cables to go in, trace around the socket, cut out the hole and slide the wall socket into the wall. (know whewre the studs are first! a studfinder would help to ensure you dont cut a hole where a stud is!) Next, use 2 small drywall screws to screw the flange of the wall socket into the wall. Don't worry the beauty flange will cover the screw heads! 2. Repeat step #1 with a second wall flange where you want the cords to come out! 3. Run the cords through the wall between the wall sockets! ( a long piece of wire taped to the cords can help, use it to fish between the two holes and pull the wire though) 4. Put the ends of the cords through the slot in the beauty flange and slide the flange into the wall socket! Voila! Hidden cords that can run from behind your entertainment center to behind your TV or wherever you need to hide those ugly cables! NOTE! DISCLAIMER: Do not drill into a wall where there is electrical, plumbing or studs behind the wall!
