Crawler Drive Shaft (Shelf Queen)
Description
Hi guys, Realized I forgot to post these when I uploaded my Shelf Queen Crawler project a while back. Center drive shafts for that realistic look for your shelf queen chassis without spending the cash. Either scale the hex shaft to length or cut it down after you print it. Glue the hex shaft into the stubby end. The joints work like a typical plastic drive shaft from the big boys so you'll need a piece of paper clip or some other metal to act as a pin. In my final version, I think I used a dab of hot glue to hold the pin in place but it might have been super glue, but you can also put a bend on each end of the pin to keep it from falling out, or wrap a loop of tape around as a fake collar. These won't take much torque so I wouldn't suggest trying to run them, although a TPU stubby end might buy you a few miles (I wouldn't bet on it). As always, use at your own risk. Do you drive to wrench or do you wrench to drive?
