Ice Fishing Flipover Rod Holder - Round
Description
This is a swing out rod holder for ice fishing. I based the more rounded shape on the old Frabill yellow rod holders that was included with their flipovers. Use 1/4" hardware to mount it to the lip if your sled and tighten just enough so it won't move until you want it to. Would suggest a button head screw, washers, and nylock nut. I've found this fits most rods, and will work with very short (4') handled ice rods. The rod will be at an approx. 45 degree angle, not ideal for a deadstick, this version is more for just holding an extra rod at the ready. See my other designs for an oval version that it suitable for a deadstick if that is what you are looking for. Tested with both PLA and PETG, both work, if you can do either, I'd go with PETG and a higher (40%+) infill. With PLA, I was able to go with 25% infill and 4 walls. I needed supports on the inside of the cutout for the rod, it really needed to be rounded off.
