RAH-66 "Longbow"

RAH-66 "Longbow"

Description

I was looking for another ceiling hanger in 1/35 scale, so I took this file and rescaled it to 1/35. I hollowed out the cockpit and and made seats for the appropriate spots. Just use thin, clear plastic to make the canopy glass if you don't want to just leave them open. I modified it into multiple pieces to make it into a model. It is very possible I might break it up even more. As it is it has 40 parts in the files (some files have multiple pieces in them). I don't have instructions, but it is pretty straight-forward on how to assemble The fuselage sections are 1 - 5 in order from front to back. The rotor blades should be attached to the shaft laying flat (the the images to see the direction the trailed tips should be turned) and the rotor cap on top of that. The rest just place in relation to how the images look, nothing complicated at all about it. The RAH-66 never went into service, but I am treating the kit as if it did. This is a "what-if" Longbow variant. You can see the parts I added to make this in blue whereas the original design is orange. I added external pylons with Zuni rocket pods, Hellfire missiles and Ain-9 Sidewinders on the pylon ends for a moderate amount of self defense. I added conformal fuel tanks for extra range. I place three of them on the bottom, but you can put them on the sides also. Realistically you could put three or four on the bottom and a couple on the sides even. When printed it will be roughly 18 inches, similar in size to an AH-64D Apache Longbow.
