Quick Release Handle Kit for Feedback Sports "Sport Mechanic" Bike Repair Stand

Description

Check out the PDF I created to make sure you print the right parts! The Quick Release Handle Kit was created to solve a very real (to my brother, wife, and myself at least) problem: it is more difficult and time consuming to place a bike in the Feedback Sports “Sport Mechanic” bike repair stand than it needs to be. So we set about designing and manufacturing this kit! All the plastic parts are 3D printed using Stratasys FDM 3D printers with ABS or ABS-CF10 material (wear-resistant material recommended). Easily sourced hardware in the form of nuts or heatset inserts, bolts, a washer, and a spring complete the kit. All that’s required from the user is to take their existing bike stand hardware, specifically the long ⅜” bolt, clamp body, and thin washer, and assemble it with the quick release handle kit. The estimated time to complete the work is 15-20 minutes and requires only a hammer (or hammer-like object…every tool is a hammer, right?). This document will walk you through the printing recommendations and required hardware if sourcing your own kit, removal of the required bike stand parts, the assembly of the bike stand parts with the QR Handle Kit, and the final installation. If you have already received the kit, skip the “Assembling Your Own Handle Kit” section and continue at “What’s Included in the QR Handle Kit” section.
