SnapMaker 2.0 Intake Air Filter
Description
This Intake filter is designed to stop dust from my dirty workshop entering the enclosure and clogging up the printing modules cooling fans. It's not really necessary but helps keeps the fans and intake grills clear for a longer period of time in-between cleanings. It should be noted that this mod does not work very effectively if your enclosure is not sealed adequately so I took extensive measures to add weather stripping around the door panels and added shielding of the hinged joints using gaffers tape. I also used locking door latches to hold the door panels closed tightly (credit to BrienAllison with his amazing door latch design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4635181) The intake filter uses a common HEPA filter and a pre-filter fabric to prolong the HEPA filters life. It simply attaches to the slot of the Snapmaker enclosure where the touch screen was originally designed to be mounted so no modification is required. The whole unit is held in place with two clips that snap into place on the inside. The tabs on the top and bottom of the clips slot through the housing piece and into the diffuser grill to hold it in place when assembled. The Filter unit includes a louver gill to direct the incoming air towards the top of the enclosure. This ensures the incoming cool air draft does not effect print quality by fluctuating the temperature around the print surface.
