Spool adapter, strong, modular, easy print, with holder for Flashforge Creator Pro&Pro2
Description
"why another filament holder???" Answer: "because most are diffcult to print and/or not strong enough and/or do not fit the Flashforge Creator Pro" So here is a filament spool holder that can work on its own, due to a standard M5 hole and recessed Hex for a standard M5 nut. You can use the spool holder anyway you want: bolted on a rack, or on your desk, or bolted on the wall, held by a heavy pitchfork.... you name it. With machines like Creality Ender you could bolt it one the 2020/4040 extrusion via T-Nuts. The 52mm diameter will fit most brands, and I've made it with a generous useful depth of 72mm which is plenty. Two snap tabs will hold the spool in place. If you're using large diameter spools, I've made a 52>70mm adapter that you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5554785 and fits perfectly onto this holder. If you have a Flashforge Creator Pro, print the "holder" with the short side touching the build plate (if you have good bed adhesion there's no need for brim/raft, but you can use a brim if you wish) and use PETG filament with >40% infill for a bombproof piece that will hold any weight you throw at. This holder fits nicely snug in the back openings of the Creator Pro/Pro2 it won't wobble or move around. You notice the 45 degree edge in two corners: that helps you fitting the piece. And for best results, print the excellent spacer for the feeding tubes made by Tim_sweden: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1701657 for perfect alignment of the filament with the feeding tubes.
