Inexpensive dry box

Inexpensive dry box

Description

# This is a remix that allows for a square hygrometer with a probe. I've also added marks where the legs should go. Current source list for all items included as I had a really hard time finding them.
# Parts: ###Container: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rubbermaid-Modular-Canister-Food-Storage-Container-with-Lid-21-Cup/16486809 ###Hygrometer without probe: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MCGDN5C ###Hygrometer with probe: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08ZMYFB4G ### Bearings: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4JJ9KFL ###Glue: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gorilla-Clear-Super-Glue-XL-25-Gram-Bottle-Pack-of-1/617251721?athbdg=L1600 ###Desiccant: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I5Y2DG6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ### Drill bit: https://www.amazon.com/Drill-America-Qualtech-High-Speed-Conventional/dp/B00FXI6C24
###Optional parts: ###Oil for bearings: https://www.amazon.com/3-ONE-Multi-Purpose-PTFE-Lubricant/dp/B00J25JDDY ### Acetone to clean bearings: https://www.amazon.com/Cutex-strength-shield-Polish-Remover/dp/B06XB43LPM
###Instructions: Best way we found to route the probe wires is to run them around the outside 4 corners and then inside the middle post. Hot glue or super glue to hold them in place is helpful. It's important to glue the wire coming out of the hygrometer as close to the bracket as possible to prevent it interfering with the rollers. I used 1/5th the container of desiccant per dry box. Roughly 3mm deep Where the legs sit require drilling out slightly so need to be glued for maximum strength. The holes are designed big enough but don't print clean so need to be cleared out. On the bottom of the tray you will see slighly depressions where the 6 legs go.
###Notes: I'm rather unhappy with how loose the caps fit in the rollers. You might want to glue them in place. The bearings come heavily greased so you can make them roll more freely by first cleaning them out with Acetone ( fingernail polish works fine ), letting them dry out and then re-oiling them with light oil.
