Dry Box Filament Rack
Description
This rack was designed specifically for a [Sterilite 20 Qt. Clear Gasket Storage Container](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-20-Qt-Clear-Gasket-Storage-Box-Blue-Latches-with-Clear-Lid/39916455) which is readily available at Walmart or online. It has a built in gasket which is ultimately why I chose this one. If you go with a bigger container, you will need more bearings and longer rods. Parts per roll: - Container (see above) - 4x (per roll) 608 Bearings (feel free to print your own) - 2x [Rod 0.5 inch diameter 12 inches long](https://www.amazon.com/VERNUOS-Pieces-Diameter-Aluminum-Extruded/dp/B09KT6RTYJ/ref=sr_1_4?crid=27O631MQ4C261&keywords=half+inch+by+12+inch+rod+aluminum&qid=1677556493&sprefix=half+inch+by+12+inch+rod+aluminu%2Caps%2C110&sr=8-4) (can use wood dowels as well) If you decide to stick with 4 rolls as shown here, you will need 16 bearings and 16 bearing sleeves. You will need 2 rail holders for the ends and two spool holders for each spool. There is about 30mm of clearance from the floor of the box to the bottom of the bearings to put some silica beads or gel. The holes at the bottom of the rail holders are for M3 threaded inserts to attach the assembly to the bottom of the box. You can replace that with M3 bolts and nuts as well (around 12mm long should do the trick). If you have suggestions please comment and I will update the parts.
