3dr Solo Fishing Loop/ Eyelet
Description
This is an eyelet for a 3dr solo. It uses the existing screws for the accessory port. Use 4 m2x8-10 screws to hold in place, washers are recommended but not necessarily a requirement. The eyelet is roughly on the center of mass when no camera is present, and slightly aft when one is present. This is what I use to fish with a 3dr Solo. To use, procure a 6' length of paracord and a knock-off chip clip from walmart (i use the transparent colored ones in the chip aisle). Drill a hole in one of the handles of the chip clip, and run the paracord through this line. Tie this end of the cord. Tie the other end in the printed eyelet. To arm, ensure the clip is stationed a few feet from the solo as not to interfere with the magnetometer. To use, simply fly and hover the solo so the clip is within arms reach. Use the clip to hold the swivel. Open the bail and fly out, close the bale when you want to drop, and the swivel will dislodge from the clip. This setup will work for surprisingly large payloads, and regularly carries a rig with shrimp or a fish head and 4oz weight. Please note, you can rig this from the ground, In all cases use extreme caution as attempting to lift exposed hooks from a drone may result in accidental entanglement or hooking.
