Ark Nova 5-6 Player Storage Box
Description
This is a storage box, in addition to my organizer, to enable 5-6 players to this great game. First, though not necessary here, check out and print a set of my organizer to this game (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932452). Then print the following additional pieces from the corresponding designs (preferably when printing, use 2 additional colours to those of the base game): -Action Card Trays [print 2]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5775671 -PlayerCup [print 2]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932452 -Animal Markers [print 2 sets of three]: either klaun86’s design (thingiverse.com/thing:5490219), or mine (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932426). -Associate Markers [print 2 sets of four]: within calbond’s design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5266169/files -SpecialEnclosureTray [print 2]: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5932452 Then, print the following from THIS design: -Cube [print 2 sets of 25]: replaces the wooden cubes that come with the game. -5-6PlBox [print 1]: Neatly holds the above parts, ready to play. There are two included, one with a set of labels and one without -5-6PlLid [print 1]: the lid to the storage box. There are two included, one with a label and one without ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To play with 5-6 players, you will need to extend the break track, I have included my attempt as an image, but I am not an artist as you can see, feel free to use it or make your own. Note, the picture demonstrating this uses the breakcup print by JuiceNeutron at (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5255675); go collect it, it’s great! You will need to make copies of the action cards; I photocopied and laminated a 5th and 6th set. You will also need to adopt your own house rules on how to manage shared resources, and keep people engaged between turns. I recommend the following, but have not had the chance to fully play-test these ad-hoc rules: -Collect Special Enclosures into a shared pool, once they run out, they run out. -Universities and Partnerships are only available whilst they last. -Enable a 3rd spot at each donation level (for all but $2) -Start with 5 Conservation project cards, vice 4. If playing with 5 players cover the leftmost card’s left option, the centre card’s centre option, and the rightmost card’s right option (similar to 2-player mode). Leave all available for 6-players. -Draw three bonus tokens for both respective places on the conservation track, instead of the normal 2. One of them (the first one drawn) covers the 5 dollar spot, and the other two cover the normal spots. The 5 dollar bonus is not available until the bonus covering it has been taken. -The person that is 3 behind (or ahead of) the active player may, after the active player has finished their turn, purchase a card from the display within their reputation range for 2x the additional cost (folder number). This is a passive half-turn, if the person is absent from the table when this opportunity arises or isn’t , they forfeit this opportunity.
