Revised Creality Sonic Pad - Ender 5 S1 Mount

Revised Creality Sonic Pad - Ender 5 S1 Mount

Description

Previous iterations of Ender 5 Sonic Pad mounts do not work properly on the production version of the Creality Ender 5 S1. The mounts by auroratechchanel and denwagg097 rely on being able to access the slot in the extrusion on the bottom of the frame. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5635978 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5749956 The preproduction versions of the Ender 5 S1 have open slots in the bottom frame and a 3D printed fan shroud. Later productions models have a strip closing that slot on the bottom extrusion and an injection molded fan shroud. As such the existing designs do not work with the current Ender 5 S1 without modification. That's where this comes in. The design spans the length of the Ender 5 S1 (315mm) and has tabs that interface with the slots in the extrusion on the left and right. The parts that interact with the sonic pad itself were taken from the "Sonic Pad Wall Mount" by deanwray. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5681397 This asset was important because it had fixed spacing which allowed accurate placement of the actual sonic pad mount. The design itself is done in two halves so it could be printed on an Ender 5 or Ender 5 S1. After installing the Sonic Pad on my own printer I noticed there was some wobble which I corrected by adding some additional supports down the front. Both sets of files are included because I have not yet printed the updated version. I have added all three inspirational designs as remixes on this design. ***Installation*** It seems easiest to screw one of the brackets to the Sonic Pad before putting it into place. Then take the other side of the mount, slide it into the slots and screw that one into the Sonic Pad as well. Having both sides screwed to the Sonic Pad produces a reasonably tight lateral connection. Lastly, the two halves can be glued together however this does not appear to be necessary.
