Harubang Cookie Cutter

Harubang Cookie Cutter

Description

This is a cookie cutter modeled after the Stone Grandpa's (Dol Harubang) found all over Jeju Island in South Korea. Originally Don Harubang were large stone statues placed at the entry of a village. Now they are pretty much the mascot for Jeju Island and can be seen all over the island and throughout South Korea.Commonly made out of Basalt a volcanic rock formation, you can make them out of cookie dough and they will be much tastier! This cookie cutter was designed for 1/4" thick dough. 3D printed cookie cutters can be tricky to use, as the dough often gets stuck inside frustrating would be cookie users. I made this one a little taller than most and added air vents to help prevent suction from keeping the dough inside. I always recommend that you dip the cutter in flour before each cut. I also recommend that after you roll your dough out to 1/4" thick (5mm) that you then add a layer of flour on top to help prevent sticking. Let me know how it goes for you. You can change the size of the cutter, but keep the height (z-axis) at 8mm for this cutter to keep it cutting correctly.
