PDW V5 BLOCK 2
Description
The Practical Defense Weapon V5 BLOCK 2, your one stop shop for a carbine conversion kit. Fits almost any pistol and requires 0 additional hardware. adjustable length of pull is now easily supported. The Practical Defense Weapon aims to solve three prominent issues with existing conversion kits. First: No additional hardware. I don't want to go to the store and buy a long list of nuts bolts and other hardware, and neither does anyone else. Second: Compatibility. Very few conversion kits are made for anything but Glocks. This system provides the needed clearances for most pistols. Third: Complexity. Most kits may look daunting with incredible mazes of pin holes and tens of files. Here you only have a few core files to build the base without a stock. Features: Full Picatinny quad rail Robust geometry to increase structural integrity, strength and load bearing Open design gives you access and manipulation of your weapon without risk of ejection failures. Option of picatinny or smooth tops on the connector rails to fit personal choice. The connector rail can be printed as one or in two pieces. The rear portion is quickly removable allowing the pistol to simply have the front rail mounts. Rear Picatinny Rail for mounting any stock option you want (Note: Folding stocks are supported however I have yet to test one, so if you have troubles with folding stocks, mention it and I will work to solve it) Linked Below is a Pic Rail to M4 buffer tube adapter if you wish to mount AR/M4 stocks. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3783795 INSTRUCTIONS Print the Sight Block, Connector rail , and Rear Cap. Print the number of pins equal to however many slots are on the bottom of your pistol + 8 for the mounting of the support arms, 4 if you print the connector rail FULL file. (IE FN 509 has 4 slots on its rail so 4+8=12 pins total) Line up the holes in the mounting brackets and the rail its being mounted to, then carefully tap the pins into the slots. Then attach whatever stock you want. CURRENTLY WORKING ON: Version 7, Stay tuned. DISCLAIMER: I'm just a hobbyist also serving active duty. I've spent a lot of time and effort in this and I will continue to do so however my time is not unlimited. I welcome and seek suggestions on how to improve the design or any features you want added/removed.
