Makita track saw parallel guide system
Description
A complete parallel guide system for the Makita track saw. This system works with the following aluminium extrusion: https://www.amazon.nl/dp/B08G1JWSBH?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details BOM: Printed parts (for a pair of parallel guides): - T-coupler left 1x - T-coupler right 1x - T-coupler rails 2x - Measuring block 2x - Measuring block rails 2x - Knob M5 8x (This is a two-part design, you might want to print the cap in a contrasting colour) - End cap left 1x - End cap right 1x - End cap connector 4x - Measuring block underneath 2x - Measuring block underneath rails 2x Hardware (for a pair of parallel guides): - M5 nuts 12x - M5 x 20mm bolt 8x - M5 x 5mm grub screw 4x - M5 inner Hex bolt x 12mm 4x Print and Build instructions: - If you, like me, like symmetry, print the left and right version. If you don't mind symmetry, just print the 'left' or 'right' parts 2 times. - The knobs have an encapsulated nut in them. You need to add a 'pause print' command in the G-code/via the slicer on the appropriate layer to insert the nuts. - Print the end caps with the flat sides DOWN. This ensures that the end cap connectors fit this part. The hole is an oval, which is no problem to print this way. - The end cap connectors must be glued to the end caps. This is designed like this for better printability. Use epoxy or CA-glue. - Before mounting the end caps to the aluminium extrusion, make sure to insert the 'measuring block underneath rails'. - Print all rail pieces with the hexagonal side for the nuts and bolts DOWN. This way, no supports are needed to accurately print these parts. - The part 'measuring block underneath' is used for rip-cutting very small pieces with a track saw (approx. 0-235mm). It should be cut to size after mounting it to the measuring blocks using the track saw after the track saw is perfectly dialed inn on its rails. This allows you to use it as a parallel guide for pieces with a width 0-235mm. Safety warning: -Use this system at your own risk. Print it with sufficiënt wall thickness and infill to ensure the parts are strong. - When using the 'underneath-measuring blocks' always make sure the track saw rails AND parallel guides are well supported as in this configuration the track saw rails is not much supported by the work piece you're cutting.
