Prusa MK2 SKR 3/EZ Upgrade
Description
We had a Prusa MK2 that had burnt board and as it has been discontinued we decided to go with the latest board, SKR 3 EZ, and new hotend, Dragonfly BMO. External MOSFETs were used to regulate the current draw as MK2 uses 12V, thus bed and heater will have high current draw. Upgrade Parts: - BBT SKR 3/EZ Control Board Mounting Case from https://www.printables.com/model/244792-btt-skr-v2-casemount-for-prusa-and-bear-frame-v20 - 2 MOSFETs to regulate the power drawn by the bed and hot - 2x 2 core wire for MOSFET control signal - JST Crimper as all original prusa wires need recrimping - A new screen, we used BTT TFT50 - Not required, Phaetus Dragonfly Hotend BMO as it allows higher printing speed Upgrade Steps: - Remove the original board and case and replace them with the new printed case for BTT SKR 3. - Recrimp all the original wires to JST-XH, BTT includes a bag with JST headers. - Prusa MK2 uses PINDA sensor (3 wires) new SuperPINDA uses (4 wires), if you want to use the SuperPINDA you need to adjust marlin and configure the temp sensor or you can just cut the white wire (Temp sensor wire) and use only the PINDA sensor 3 wires - Connect all wires but the bed and heater cartridge as they will be wired to the MOSFET control terminal. - Mount the external MOSFETs to the back of the machine and wire the MOSFETs from PSU to the heated bed and heater cartridge, and connect the control signal to the bed and heater cartridge terminal in the SKR 3. - Wire EXP1 and EXP2 wires to BTT TFT50. - Upload the included Marlin Firmware, the source code is included so you can adjust to your used parts.
