8x10 Film Holder with glass
Description
This is a holder for glass; specifically "etched frame glass" to be used for scanning, especially DSLR scanning. Print two, insert & bond two sheets of etched frame glass with 2.4mm thickness, cut to 9x11 inches, etched sides facing inward. You can get fancy and connect the two via some small hinges. You can use the FreeCAD file to customize various sizes in the "Changeable Parameters" spreadsheet. If your printer can't do the full size (245 x 300mm), there is a sliced version in the FreeCAD file. Instead of the "SinglePiece" part, print the two parts: "2Piece_Bottom" and "2Piece_Top", and bond the two pieces together. I used clear epoxy for this as well as boding the glass to the frame. I got 8x10mm pure copper mini hinges on Amazon to connect the two halves. Enjoy, and let me know of any improvements you can make in the design.
