EZ-TRIM harness line Gen 4
Description
If you are a windsurfer since some times, you know what it takes to have harness lines not well balanced or tuned on your boom. EZ-TRIM Harness line is a revolutionary system to trim your harness lines while sailing : watch the original video at the genesis of the concept (Gen1) : https://youtu.be/t7izQPLgtv0 , and the latest version (Gen4) : https://youtu.be/pf44RHL-_Qs This is an upgrade of EZ-TRIM Harness line Gen 1 (Thing : 4520587) and Gen2 (Thing : 4660759), somewhat thinner and lighter but also much more easy to build (no need of technical plastic, PLA or TPU works fine). But the main difference relies on the usage ropes with splice to create the binding on the boom. and this gives new opportunity to install the system on booms with boom tubes that are thicker at the end than under your palm. You can print it for your boom (parameters are set depending of your boom diameter , but if you use PLU for 3D printing, you can manage a diameter +-1 mm cross section with your real size of section, for PLA I would recommand +-.1mm cross section), use it and show it to your friends. The conditions to use those files are : print it for YOUR OWN USE ONLY (no sales) This product concept is protected by a patent (no sales allowed without a licence) Keep the EZ-TRIM name on the model and use EZ-TRIM name in your communication on the concept. Please share your remarks on this design the Facebook channel : https://www.facebook.com/groups/378280849570793 Also I m looking for partners / subcontractor to deliver this design into a commercial product, If you are interested feel free to contact me. Pre-requisite to build your own EZ-TRIM Gen2 add-on for your boom : 1 ) at this stage (improvement pending) , you should be able to disassemble your boom in 2 parts : the 2 tubes with the handle on one side and the clew on the other side. 2) The default design was made for 30.6mm boom (measure on the grip) and scaling will allow to adapt the design from 30mm to 35mm easily, but beyond of this range the gap with the locking piece may too loose, and below the range , the part will at some point be too thin The boom can have an oval section, provided you consider a diameter with the same perimeter as the oval section.
