HP 40 Series (HP41C/41CV/41CX) Calculator Battery Holder & Spring Winder

Description

This is a battery holder for the HP 40 series (HP41C/41CV/41CX) of calculator. This version should provide less pressure on the calculator case which sometimes led to screw retainment issues since the forward catch ledge is slightly lower than the original. I have not yet modeled a battery retainer. The original holder used two thin metal straps that were sprung against the batteries. I've modeled a tighter cylinder in order to add more rigidity to the unit. How many times have you seen one with cracked or missing corners or split entirely in two? The base surface is at a six degree angle relative to the axis of the batteries. Use this number for orienting the print on the printer bed for slicing. Use bed supports for the front and back lengths but not for the five grip slots. The spring winder is designed differently for the positive and negative terminals. The original springs usually got off axis as they were compressed. This design attempts to improve on the axis for spring compression. The spring pair seems to work best with 24 gauge stainless steel wire which is the size originally used (0.51 mm diameter). Coming soon, look for my set of prints to repair the plastic screw post problem so often found on these units. Enjoy.
