JetBD920 encoder Mount
Description
Seems as though many people are interested in Electronic Lead Screw's for hobby lathes. You need to mounted and encoder to keep track of the spindle position so that you no longer need to mechanically force the spindle and Z axis position together. This is how I mounted a E6B2 optical encoder to my lathe without any dissassembly and modifying anything other than drilling a couple of holes. The Spindle gear is inserted into the inside of the belt pulley. Both gears were printed from the stl files in PETG and have been in service for over a year with no issues. I i used a light layer of gorilla glue on the outer rim. If you need to remove it the glue is easy to get off but more than strong enough to keep the gear in place. When installing the belt don't over tightened it. It won't perform any better. Hope this is helpful of at least gives you and idea on how to do it better. Cheers Kisssys
