Minimalist Square Self Watering Planter
Description
**This is a self-watering planter with a sleek minimalist design I've been working on for a few days. I wanted a simple modern square shape with a visible water level. It was designed to be somewhat futuristic, like something you would find on a desk in a biotech company. I hope you'll find this planter as useful and cool looking as I do. ** There is 4 different sizes. The nursery pot is very small and should really only be used for the smallest plants. Small, medium and large pots are available for regular sized plants. Try not to oversize the pot too much as this could promote root rot. **The planter uses capillary action to bring water into the soil so you're gonna need cotton strings.** Just make one ending touch the bottom of the chamber and the other run in the soil. The diameter and number of strings is up to you. You could also just fill the chamber with soil but be aware that this might also promote root rot depending on the soil, light level and plant characteristics. Each planter is made of 5 parts : a main body, a chamber, a water tank, a connector and an accent ring. **The main body and chamber are made to be glued together as I found this to be way easier, quicker and efficient.** I guess you can try to print it in one part but this will require large supports. The rest simply snaps into place, though you might want to glue the accent ring if it falls off. It's only there for aesthetic anyway and serves no other purpose. I'll advise to print this part and the connectors in a different color, I personally used silk black PLA for those parts and regular black PLA for the main body. The water tank is intended to be printed in transparent PETG so you can monitor the water level easily. To fill the tank, you can either use the small tunnel that opens on the top of the pot with a syringe or a small funnel or you can just open the whole thing and snap it back. **Disclaimer: I've only printed the nursery size for now. Larger versions are not simple upscales as I edited the clearance on snapping part to ensure they still hold together, but I can't assure you they will fit perfectly. If you encounter any problem, please leave a comment so I can look into it !**
