<h1>Betaflight car</h1> <h2>Hi !</h2> <h2>Do you have obsolet part from a old 5 inches drone and don't know what to do with it ?</h2> <h2>Why not change it into a mini rover (tank) whene it's rainning outside, make new with the old or juste a fun diy projet?</h2> <h3>Well, in that case, this projet is for you!!!! </h3> <h1>step 1 : recycle your hardware</h1> <h2>you will need :</h2> <ul> <li>4 motors with 16 mm space betwin the opposite screw</li> <li>Esc for each motor or a 4 in 1</li> <li>Fc compatible betaflight (inav shout work too)</li> <li>RX</li> <li>VTx and antenna</li> <li>Camera compatible with your VTx</li> </ul> <p>Basically, take every scrap that still functional. the wiring is like a normal drone</p> <h1>step 2 : remix and print your pieces</h1> <p>You can download the original fusion 360 file to remix at your wish.</p> <h2>caution !!!</h2> <p> If you decide to print the wheels with the "simple wheel", you can juste put print it without modification. If you decide to print the rim and tire, you probably need to adjuste the diametre to fit in the motor on the wheel</p> <p>Ideally (PLA-PETG) and TPU for this projet is recommended. even if every things can be print in PLA and still work.(exept the tire than can't be put on the rim if it is in PLA) and every 3mf files the have the type of plastique recommended in there title.</p> <h2>Whene everythings is printed and the electronics is in place, it is time to lunch betaflight : 3</h2> <p> Now we will see every tab, one by one to finally turn it into a car \0/</p> <h1>step 3 : betaflight - configuration tab</h1> <ul> <li>I recommend to set the PID loop to 1kHz. that plenty enough for what we are doing and your fc will like that. trust me.</li> <li>Set arming angle 180° so it can be tilted and still work</li> <li>Disable air mode</li> </ul> <h1>step 4 : betaflight - PID tuning table and rates</h1> <h2>PID : </h2> <p> Roll and Pitch should be at:</p> <ul> <li> P = 0</li> <li> I = 0</li> <li> D = 0</li> </ul> <p> And Yaw at:</p> <ul> <li> P = 10</li> <li> I = 1</li> <li> D = 4</li> </ul> <h2>RATES : </h2> <ul> <li>Roll and Pitch should be at 0 degs / secs</li> <li>Yaw max at 550 degs / secs</li> </ul> <h2>i don't recommend to exeed 550 degs / secs or the frame lean and 2 wheels take off the ground and the Fc freak out</h2> <h3>Throttle limite : </h3> <ul> <li>throttle limite set to 25</li> </ul> <h1>step 5 : betaflight - Motors tab</h1> <ul> <li>Motor stop activated</li> <li>Setting Dshot 300 or Dshot150 is enough</li> <li>Minimum thorttle to 0%</li> </ul> <h1>step 6 : betaflight - remapping the motors</h1> <ol> <li>reverse motor 1 and 3</li> <li>Disconnect the USB port and arm it to try you move the Yaw stick to the left and the 2 wheels on the right turn, in that case, drone is set up right. otherwise, clic on "motor direction is reversed"</li> <li>Set all the motors direction to make the car move forward</li> </ol> <p> if your good enough, you could set your esc with bidirectionnal motor to create a reverse</p> a vidéo of it working https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvaMm9ptbnY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== <p>A vidéo of it working <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvaMm9ptbnY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA=="> here</a>.</p>
