IIDX 1P Controller
Description
Arcade-sized controller plans I made for a DIY IIDX controller. Warnings and things I changed for the actual build: 1. Only having 2 buttons up top is a huge inconvenience. I'll be making a new design with 4 buttons along the top -eventually- 2. I replaced the inside disc (which I planned to use with a photointerrupt sensor) with a rotary sensor like the ones used in SDVX controllers. This was a much easier part to install and find arduino code for. I would not recommend trying to use the inside parts as designed here. 3. The controller is BIG. Not lap friendly. There's also quite a bit of unused space in the box vertically, so I could have made it less tall. I might update that in the next build too. 4. Not sure why there are button holes in the bottom piece... I made it a long time ago and didn't know how to use Fusion 360 (still don't). Just ignore them and make a flat piece obviously :) The holes fit typical sanwa / istmall / cheap chinese buttons. Learn from my mistake and don't buy the cheap chinese buttons. Buy buttons from ISTmall. They are pricey and take a while to ship, but it's worth it, because the springs in the cheap chinese buttons will make your fingers tired after 20-30 minutes of playing. They can also slow down how fast your skill level progresses, and potentially cause injuries.
