Leather Splitter

Leather Splitter

Description

This leather splitter is a work in progress and my first big project. I am a hobbyist and can't guarantee that this will work for you. Fusion file is included so improvements can be made by who ever. Photos are from my first build with what ever I had laying around. Will update soon. Listed hardware should work better. Hardware Needed 1 M8 x 120 Hex Head Bolts 1 M8 X 20 Flat Head Socket 4 M8 x 40 Hex Head Bolts 2 M5 x 40 Socket Head Bolt 4 M5 x 30 Socket Head Bolt 2 M5 x 20 Socket Head Bolt 4 M8 x 1.25 Nuts 2 M8 x 1.25 Lock Nuts 6 M5 x 0.8 Nuts 12 #8 Washers 4 #5 Washers 4 Phillips head Screws 2 Medium washers with 8mm Inner Diameter 2 608-2rs bearings 2 1.5" heavy springs. The heavier the better. 1 box cutter blade. I printed everything at 99% infill just for strength purposes. I'm sure you could get away with doing 75% but I wouldn't go any lower than that. IF YOU CHOOSE TO DECREASE INFILL YOU NEED TO INCREASE WALLS. This way the threads will have something to grab into. I would not print the levers at anything less than 90%. Print the body and roller with supports Print lever and mirrored lever to compliment. Holes are not centered on bottom. Longer end must be installed facing down. I mounted mine to a plank of wood so I could clamp it to my work bench. I will be writing instructions on how to assemble this week. I will also be shooting an assembly video soon. If you have any questions you can reach out to me on reddit or here.
