Spring Coin Wallet

Spring Coin Wallet

Description

This is a small pocket coin (USD) wallet for quicker transactions at a manned cash register or self-checkouts that accept cash, for pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. This is especially useful for venues that have self-checkouts that do not accept cash. Not an original idea by any means. FreeCAD file is provided if you'd like to get ideas and design your own wallet for your country's currency. >>There is a fillet on the bottom of the model, please print this fillet side up!<< The first coin inserted acts as the follower for the rest. If you run out of coins in a particular slot then the spring will fall out. This should not be a problem since people (at least I) do not conduct that many transactions in one day. Refill your coins when you get home. Springs are required for function. Recommended spring is Century Spring's model TA-2218. https://www.mwcomponents.com/shop/ta-2218cs?microsite=century-spring My local Home Depot had a spring assortment kit that had springs that sort of worked, but they needed to be stretched to fit this design. They work well enough for prototyping purposes or if you're just making one. It's the thin wired half inch spring. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Spring-Assortment-Kit-84-Pack-13554/203133714 There is a 13mm recess at the bottom of each coin well for the bottom of the spring to rest in.
