DJI Inspire 3 SSD Cooling Dock

DJI Inspire 3 SSD Cooling Dock

Description

A very quick and dirty little SSD Dock which I made just to keep the SSDs cool while offloading on hot days. You'll need to buy a couple of parts for this, which can be found here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C1BKG4QY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B086DJ4HF5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CFL5P99B?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details You will also need x4 55mm M4 bolts and x4 M4 nuts Print the parts separately. Ensure that the fans are facing in the right direction, so that they are pushing air out over the SSD. One side of the 2 way USB C Splitter attaches to the breakout board which you can then wire your fans up to. This breakout board and the fan cables sit in the little chamber at the rear of the device. You may also need to slightly change the fan routing on one of the fans so that it's a mirror image on both sides, this allows the wiring to be routed underneath the USB splitter. It is a little loud, which I think is partly due to the air being drawn through the intake making a kinda whistle sound. I think a mesh or something on the end would fix this. I'll update the design if I find a solution. Again, this is quick and dirty. It's quite crude but it'll sit in my Inspire 3 kit for those super hot days as it seems that these drives can overheat which results in thermal throttling, slowing down offload speeds.
