Battery Belt Clip Holder For FPV Goggles
Description
I don't like to have the Goggles battery on my head so I designed this battery holder that clips into your pants/belt and also has a voltage alarm built in + a switch to turn the goggles off. Depending on the type of FPV Googles you have, they may or may not have a switch, or you could be using a VRX (like HDZero or Walksnail) that don't have a switch built in. I use the HDZero Goggles with the Walksnail VRX for example, which was the main reason for me to integrate a switch in the battery holder. Depending on your cable, if you have a BEC for example, you might also not be able to have a voltage alarm in your googles, so I designed the holder to also include one! For my use case that is less necessary as the HDZero google show the alarm even with the WalkSnail VRX. The voltage alarm also has a little screen that shows the battery voltage. The holder has an opening so you can see this. The holder should fit a 3S or 4S Li-ion battery fairly snuggly. I tested with both. My cable has a female barrel plug at the end, but if you have an XT60 plug (more common) you can just use that instead. You should be able to customize the length of the clip to your liking by using the STEP file. The clip is easily removable in case you break it or want to design a different one. Pro tip: Make sure you clip them on the side of your leg, not front, otherwise you can push it out as you walk around. Feel free to design a version of the clip that is more snug, I was a bit lazy and I'm a terrible CAD designed anyway :D Components: - XT60 female plug - 2 4S JST-XH plug (1 female and 1 male). You can add a little slit to the female plug so it also fits 3S batteries (look at the attached pictures) - 8.5x13.5mm switch (I got them from AliExpress) - Voltage Alarm with a screen. My version goes up to 8S, there's plenty of those around. Just look for something similar to what is on my pictures. - 4 M2x5mm or M2x6mm countersunk screws - 4 M2 inserts - Either a male barrel plug or an XT60 male plug on wires. - Zipties, if you want - Hot Glue or some other sort of glue to hold the plugs securely. - Double sided tape to hold the battery voltage alarm - Wires Assemble tips: - Use Hot Glue or some other glue to make sure the connectors are secure. - Use double sided tape to hold the battery voltage alarm - You can use the loops around the holder to zip tie cables and keep them from moving around. - Use the brass m2 inserts with the help of a soldering iron to place them in the holder holes. This will be used to screw the cover and clip in place. There's plenty "tutorials" online on how to insert these into 3D Prints with your soldering iron.
