Starhopper
Description
This is a more recent-accurate version of Starhopper as of Oct 2023. I made it as accurate as I could based on reference photos. Big difference in this version of hopper versus most older versions on here is the lack of metal coverings that wrap around the three legs. This is my first ever make on here, and first design I have modeled and printed myself. Learned a lot and hope whoever prints it enjoys it! Please post any feedback you have and/or post a make! --- Notes - Print tank upside-down for best overall quality (I used tree supports). - Joining block should fit very snugly, may take some percussive maintenance to snap in, but it should work. - If you plan to print 150% or larger, you can use "150+Antenna" to print, and I would also recommend using tree supports if you choose to do so. This (150+Antenna) is more accurate than the normal "Antenna" stl file, but it is pretty dodgy to print at the original size of the model, thus, use the "Antenna" file if you choose to print as is. - No raptor for this model because as far as I am aware, hopper does not have one as of Oct 2023. I may make a raptor anyway and add it later if I get feedback that I should. - In the photo of the 3d print here, you may notice some discrepancies in the legs of hopper, this is a small issue with my own printer and not a characteristic of the original model. --- Thanks to RGV Aerial Photography, Cosmic Perspective, and NASASpaceFlight for the great reference photos. Was harder than I thought to find high quality photos of hopper from all of it's sides!
