SL-FX+ Slim Mag Mount

SL-FX+ Slim Mag Mount

Description

An ultra slim magnetic mount for the Shredlights SL-FX+ Perfect for any PEV where clearance might be an issue **MATERIALS REQUIRED** § (4) 18x3mm Neodymium Magnets § Gorilla Clear Gorilla Glue § Shredlights Steel Base Plate / DIY Solution (Only applicable if mounting to a non-magnetic surface) **ASSEMBLY / INSTALLATION** *When getting everything ready, its recommended to mark or make note of the pole direction of each magnet. This will come handy later during the assembly process* To start pour a dime size amount of glue into each recessed hole. Press fit the first magnet into one of the two slots, allowing any excess glue to be squeezed out. Then, making note of the polarity of the first magnet, press the second magnet into the other slot with the same pole facing up. (Be careful when doing this, as it will initially want to flip and collide with the magnet already in place. I find sliding the second magnet into the recess towards the other magnet, allows them to peacefully pull without losing grip). Once both magnets are pressed into place, use a tissue or a towel to wipe off any excess glue that may have escaped during the assembly. Let it cure for 24hrs. With the mount now completed, grab your Shredlight and remove the two screws holding the black clip in place. With the clip out of the way, line up the recessed oval of the slim mount with the protruding oval of the Shredlight and press the mount into place. (Depending on your printer, this may be a snugger fit that usual). Once the mount is pressed completely flat against the light, reuse the stock hardware, and secure the mount to the light via the two countersunk holes. If you are mounting the SL-FX+ to something already magnetic, that's it! Enjoy! In most cases, however, a steel base will need to be used into order to get the full potential out of these magnetic mounts. To solve this, you can simply purchase a 3M backed steel base plate from Shredlights themselves ($2.99 each plus shipping) or you can simply make your own variation using any gauge steel you prefer and adding some sort of adhesive backing.
