DIY Wizard's Chess (Under 70 Dollars)
Description
Hello everyone! This is my robotic chessboard built after about 2 months of work and iteration. Note that some of the designs will need to be adjusted as per your settings. The base is a 1/2 inch PVC pipe square (you can make the dimensions whatever you like, but my square is 20" by 20". Then print each of the brackets and assemble them as per the STEP file. Most pieces are attached with hot glue. The electromagnet is a Keyestudio 0320, although a higher-strength one might be advisable. WHEN PRINTING THE PIECES: Load them in your slicer and determine the layer at which the hole for the magnet ends, and add a PAUSE command on the layer immediately BEFORE the hole gets filled. When the print stops, insert the magnet (taking careful note of the polarity) and then resume the print. For this reason, make sure supports are OFF for the chess pieces (nearly every STL included is designed to not include supports)
